If you have been in this hobby for even a brief time, you have probably heard of the Explorer line of detectors. Since the first explorer was introduced back in 1999 these machines have become legend in the metal detecting world.

 The SE pro is the latest edition of Explorer detectors and comes with the 11 inch DD coil. Since the E-trac has come along there has been a lot of debate on which detector is better, the Explorer Se Pro or the E-trac and although I will not try to anwser which is better I will say that personally I think the E-trac is easier to use.

 

 Talking to some of the people who have updated from the explorers to the E-trac have said that the tones are very similiar and it is very easy to learn the E-trac because in some ways the machines are very much alike. I have also heard that  the E-trac seems to process targets just a little faster and the quick mask seems to work a little better than the iron mask feature on the explorers.
